How can we help?

Find answers to common questions below, or reach out directly and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

The basics

Range Caddies is an iOS app designed to help golfers practise more effectively at the driving range and short game areas. It provides a library of expert-curated drills, lets you track your shot outcomes (makes and misses), build custom workout routines, and monitor your progress over time through personal bests and streak tracking.
Range Caddies uses Sign in with Apple for authentication, which lets you get started quickly using your existing Apple ID. No separate username or password is required. Your practice data is stored entirely on your device — nothing is sent to external servers.
Range Caddies requires iOS 16.0 or later. It is designed for iPhone and is optimised for modern screen sizes. iPad support is not currently available but may be added in a future update.

Practising with Range Caddies

Open the Drills tab, browse or search for a drill, and tap it to open the detail view. Select the club you'll be using, then tap Start Drill. The active session screen will guide you through each set, prompting you to record each shot as a make or miss (with directional data for misses).
During an active drill set you will see a record panel with a large Make button and directional miss buttons (Short, Long, Left, Right). After each shot, tap the appropriate result. The set counter and hit rate update in real time. Once all reps in a set are recorded, you can advance to the next set.
Yes. Tap the pause button in the timer strip to pause the session timer without losing your progress. To end the session entirely, tap End Session at the bottom of the screen. Ending a session early will discard progress for that session — you'll be prompted to confirm before it closes.
Reps are the number of individual shots you hit within one set. Sets are repeated rounds of those reps. For example, a drill that is 3×10 means 3 sets of 10 shots each, for 30 shots total. The session header always shows your current set and total set count.

Building custom routines

Go to the Workouts tab and tap the + button in the top-right corner. Give your workout a name, then add drills from the drill library. You can reorder drills by dragging, and remove them by swiping left. Tap Save when you're done. Your workout will appear in the Workouts list ready to start.
Yes. Open a workout by tapping on it in the Workouts tab, then tap Edit to modify its name or drill list. To delete a workout, swipe left on it in the Workouts list and tap Delete.

Tracking your improvement

A personal best (PB) is your highest ever make percentage for a specific drill with a specific club. For example, if you once hit 9 out of 10 on the 50-Yard Wedge Control drill with your gap wedge, your PB for that drill/club combination is 90%. PBs are tracked per drill per club so you can compare across different club choices.
Your streak counts consecutive days on which you completed at least one drill session. Miss a day and the streak resets to zero — but Range Caddies includes a one-day grace period so a single missed day won't immediately break your streak. The Home screen shows your weekly practice dots to help you stay consistent.
Recent session activity is visible on the Home tab. For a full history of past sessions, tap See All next to the Recent Activity section on the Home tab, or navigate to the History section in your Profile.

Your data

All your drill sessions, personal bests, workout routines, and streak data are stored locally on your iPhone using Core Data. None of this data is transmitted to external servers or cloud storage. If you delete the app, your data will be permanently removed from your device.
To delete your account and all associated data, go to Profile → Account → Delete Account. This will permanently remove all of your practice data from your device and revoke the Sign in with Apple connection. This action cannot be undone. You can also simply delete the app from your iPhone to remove all locally stored data.
